A planning guide for creating schoolyard habitat and outdoor classroom projects.
From an Audubon RI email, March 16, 2021:
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Schoolyard Habitat Project Guide (available online in both English and Spanish) takes teachers and students through each step of transforming school grounds into places that engage the entire school community in habitat restoration. Cindy Corsair, a biologist with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, describes schoolyard habitats as “ecologically sound, integrated into the curriculum and designed to encourage long-term stewardship. We are taking a holistic approach to develop projects that benefit wildlife, provide educators with professional development opportunities, and create a rich learning environment for students.”
