White Lilac LLC Research and Web Publishing Services

White Lilac LLC specializes in solving problems that limit public access to information. Although specializing in Rhode Island's environmental topics, White Lilac LLC can adapt its unique processes and information architecture for any interrelated, complex set of topics or issues. The company provides website development, research, editorial, communications, and indexing services.

White Lilac LLC was founded in 2007 by Sue Korté, a reference librarian with more than 11 years’ experience in high-tech, research and development corporations. Her research efforts supported executive, business development, technical, and scientific staff on a wide range of projects and disciplines. Before earning a Master of Library Science degree at Simmons College, she provided editorial and indexing services for academic authors and publishers. This comprehensive experience of a “virtuoso generalist”* enables her to analyze, organize, and integrate complex, disparate sets of information so that it is easily accessible to different interest groups simultaneously.

Since founding White Lilac LLC, she has

  • Created custom indexes to references for pharmaceutical research firms
  • Developed and maintained Drupal websites
  • Managed MailChimp email campaigns
  • Developed and maintained Trumba calendars
  • Devised an online legislative tracking system
  • Built other customized, cost-effective solutions for clients that improved their internal workflows

She is the creator and managing editor of What Grows On in Rhode Island, the state's most comprehensive environment-related online calendar. She is also the creator of The Providential Gardener, which began as a blog in 2006 and has morphed into this website, ProvGardener.com.

Her expertise is in affordable content organization solutions rather than graphic design. She can collaborate with other developers and website designers when more costly state-of-the-art design is required. She can arrange cost-effective relationships with Providence's many Drupal experts and website designers to contribute to your project.

For further information about how White Lilac LLC can solve your online information management problems, provide Drupal website support and D6 to D7 or D8 migration, MailChimp campaign services, and robust Trumba calendars for your website, contact Susan Korté, managing member of White Lilac LLC.

*Term is the title of Lyza Gardner's Responsive Day Out talk, June 19, 2015. Ms. Gardner explains the importance of generalists, who are not always highly regarded because of the common idea that specialization is more valuable. It was a good video, but seems to have been removed sometime before October 2017.
