Program Coordinator - RI State Conservation Committee

The Rhode Island State Conservation Committee (RI SCC) is seeking a Program Coordinator. The ideal candidate should be able to communicate effectively, multi-task, work independently and be detail oriented. The applicant should be familiar with budgets and financial reports, have grant management and reporting experience as well as a working knowledge of bookkeeping principles and familiarity with bookkeeping software (e.g. Freshbooks, QuickBooks, etc.).

With oversight and direction from the RI SCC Chair, the Program Coordinator is responsible for the operational and financial management of the general and specific programs identified by the RI SCC and RI General Laws, as well as a high degree of initiative and independent judgment.

The Program Coordinator will continually assess and direct a wide range of programmatic issues including long range planning, developing projects, analyzing administrative workflow, maintaining databases, communicating with committee members, conservation district board members (and their staff) and RI SCC advisory agencies and the general public regarding a range of issues, and managing internal and external program relations. 

Assists the RI SCC in directing an organization's accounting functions. These functions include establishing and maintaining an organization's (and providing guidance to the three conservation districts) accounting principles, practices, and procedures. Oversees the preparation and evaluation of budgets and other financial operating reports, and presents findings and recommendations to top management.

This is a part-time position with flexible hours.
